Carl Cox and Christopher Coe take their project into a new dimension dedicated to live electronic performances, with the first events set for Dublin and Belfast and a special Ibiza date coming in October.

Electronic music is once again looking for a closer connection with the audience and Awesome Soundwave is bringing that idea to life with ASW Live, a new series of events created by Carl Cox and Christopher Coe.

Founded in 2018, Awesome Soundwave has spent the past eight years supporting artists who place live performance and experimentation at the heart of their music.

With ASW Live, that philosophy moves from the label catalogue into clubs and venues, creating events where electronic music is performed rather than simply played.

The first two dates will take place in Dublin on August 28 at Pawn Shop, with free entry, followed by Belfast on August 29 at The Ulster Sports Club.

The line-up will feature Phil Kieran and Christopher Coe, two artists with very different backgrounds but a shared commitment to live electronic performance.

Phil Kieran, whose career spans more than three decades, will revisit material from across his catalogue through a live performance built around synthesis and real-time hardware manipulation.

Christopher Coe will bring his own approach to live Techno, using Eurorack modular systems to create and shape the music as the performance unfolds.

This element of unpredictability is at the heart of ASW Live. Rather than focusing on a specific genre, Awesome Soundwave continues to work with artists who use technology, experimentation and improvisation as essential parts of their creative process.

Speaking about the new series, Christopher Coe also looks back at the journey Awesome Soundwave has taken since its creation.

The label has released more than 80 titles and brought its artists to major electronic music events and venues around the world, including Mysteryland, Awakenings and Wembley Arena, as well as a residency at DC-10 in Ibiza.

Over the years, the label has worked with emerging artists alongside established names such as Marc Romboy and Octave One.

Now the focus is moving back towards the intimacy of the club environment. Coe describes a desire to recreate an underground atmosphere where artists and audiences can connect more directly and where anything can happen on the night.

That vision will continue in October with a special ASW Live event in Ibiza, featuring Sebastian Mullaert, Christopher Coe and Stimming. The location will be announced at a later date, but the event already represents an important step for a project that has strong ties to Ibiza and its underground electronic music scene.

Alongside the new live series, Awesome Soundwave is continuing its record label activity. On September 25, the label will release Holds The Sky, the forthcoming album from Sebastian Mullaert and Georgian composer, vocalist and electronic artist Tamarma.

Following Being Colours and Mullaert’s rework of the title track, the album continues the label’s exploration of electronic music, experimentation and collaboration.

With ASW Live, Carl Cox and Christopher Coe are putting the live experience back at the centre of electronic music at a time when audiences are increasingly looking for performances that feel immediate and authentic.

From intimate clubs to larger venues, the idea remains simple: to create something that cannot be reproduced in exactly the same way twice.

The unpredictable side of electronic music, where the performance is created in the moment and every night can become something different. That’s Awesome Soundwave Live.
