Armin van Buuren has released A State of Trance 2026, the latest chapter of his long-running mix album series and one of the most anticipated trance releases of the year.
The new project arrives while A State of Trance celebrates its 25th anniversary, bringing together 43 tracks across three completely new mix themes: Pulse, Frequency and Energy.
For the first time since 2006, the album series moves away from the classic “On The Beach”, “In The Club” and “Who’s Afraid Of 138?!” structure, opening a new era for the ASOT sound and identity.
Speaking about the release, Armin van Buuren reflected on the importance of the milestone: “Reaching 25 years of A State of Trance is something I could have only dreamed of when I started the show. This album reflects where trance is today and where it’s heading. I’m proud to release another album this year whilst celebrating the brand’s 25-year anniversary and the music that makes all this possible.”
According to Armin, the album represents both the legacy of A State of Trance and the future direction of trance music.
The Pulse mix explores melodic and progressive sounds through collaborations with artists including Argy, Andrew Bayer and Skytech, while the tracklist also features names such as Joris Voorn, OTTAGON and the BLR remix of “Tuvan” by GAIA.
With Frequency, the energy shifts toward peak-time club sounds thanks to tracks from Amy Wiles, Farius and SUPERSTRINGS, alongside “Always You”, selected as the official anthem for A State of Trance 2026.
The final mix, Energy, moves into harder and faster territory with contributions from KI/KI, Lilly Palmer, The Rocketman and rising artists including S3PPA, DEVERAUX, LAWTON and Deckers.
One of the most talked-about moments on the album is “Serendipity”, the new collaboration between Armin van Buuren and Andrew Bayer released just ahead of the full album, together with the long-awaited Rising Star Remix of “Sun Shines On Me” with Glockenbach, a track that has already become a fan favourite during Armin’s recent live sets.
With A State of Trance 2026, Armin van Buuren continues to connect the legacy of trance with its future direction, keeping ASOT at the centre of electronic music culture after 25 years.
