DJ AWARDS 2024 NOMINEES REVEALED FOR HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RETURN

The DJ AWARDS is set to make a grand comeback on October 2nd at Club Chinois in Ibiza, marking its 23rd Anniversary after a four-year hiatus. Originally founded in 1998 by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, the DJ AWARDS have earned the reputation of being the “Oscars of electronic dance music.”

Now under new ownership and with substantial investment, this year’s event promises to be a spectacular celebration of global DJ culture, focusing on the theme of Unity—a core principle of dance music.

The theme of Unity was chosen to emphasize the power of music to bring people together, celebrate diversity, and forge new bonds across personal, musical, and emotional landscapes.

As Andy Grant, the new owner of the DJ AWARDS, puts it, “Music has the power to unite us, to cheer us up, to give us the chills, to instantly remind us of a long-lost memory, to create a vibe, to set a mood, or to even motivate change. That’s why we have chosen the theme of Unity for the DJ AWARDS 2024 reboot.”

This year’s nominations span a wide array of electronic music genres, reflecting the diverse and dynamic nature of the global dance scene. Key categories include House, Tech House, Afro, Trance, Techno which have been gaining momentum with fresh and innovative sounds.

Among the standout nominees are:

• House: Gorgon City, Honey Dijon, Kerri Chandler, Seth Troxler, TSHA
• Trance: Armin van Buuren, Astrix, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Infected Mushroom
• Techno: Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Paco Osuna, Sven Väth, Indira Paganotto
• Progressive House: ARTBAT, CamelPhat, Eric Prydz, Tale of Us, Hernán Cattáneo
• International DJ: Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix
• Live Act: Bicep, Fred Again.., RÜFÜS DU SOL, Róisín Murphy, Ben Böhmer

In addition to these artist categories, the DJ AWARDS will also recognize excellence within the industry through a series of Industry Awards. These awards will be divided into global and Ibiza-focused sections, honoring achievements such as the Global Festival Award, the Outstanding Global Tour Award, and Ibiza Track of the Summer.

Other notable awards include the Most Memorable Dance Floor Moment, celebrating iconic moments that have left a lasting impact on the dance floor.

The DJ AWARDS 2024 is not just about recognizing the established stars; it also shines a spotlight on emerging talent with the RIOT Noise Breakthrough Artist category, which includes rising stars like Archie Hamilton, Miss Monique, and James Hype.
